CBC: Protesters arrested at climate protest blocking Bloor Viaduct traffic

Demonstrators began blocking traffic during rush hour and it’s unclear when they’ll leave

Several protesters were placed in handcuffs and led away from the scene of a climate demonstration blocking traffic on the Bloor Viaduct on Monday.

Protesters shut down the major four-lane bridge through the morning before the arrests were made.

It’s not yet clear how many people have been arrested, or what charges they are facing.

Some protesters who refused to walk away from the middle of the roadway were carried off by police.

The climate protest is completely shutting down traffic on the Bloor Viaduct on Monday, with no cars able to cross the major four-lane bridge.

Extinction Rebellion, the group behind the protest, is having its members block traffic around Broadview and Danforth avenues.
